The first thing I took away from this video was find your passion. When I started my journey at Full Sail I thought I wanted to get a degree in Music Production. It wasn't until I went through a few failures where I was put into the Media Communications certificate program that I realized I could learn a little bit of everything instead of just one thing. While in the degree program I realized I wanted to be a video editor. Sometimes you have to go through a few failures to realize where your passion is.
The second thing I learned was how to manage my time better. What I'm understanding is that I should write a journal to evaluate what I do with my time. My mom has been telling me to do this since I was a kid but I did not want to listen. The second thing I got from this section was I should do something that we are doing in this class and that is creating SMART goals. Goals that are realistic and achievable in a short amount of time. Also, set deadlines for my goals. I know for a fact if I don't set deadlines I'll be working on a project for months and it won't achieve anything.
The third thing I learned from this video was how to prepare for an interview. Everything that was mentioned on part of the video did not surprise me. When I prepare for interviews I usually look up ratings of the job from other employees. I get an idea of what questions they might ask. The only thing that I don't do that I need to do is practice with mock interviews.
